TikTok ads cost whatever you bid in an auction, with a floor set by TikTok: $50 a day per campaign and $20 a day per ad group, as of October 2026. Third-party benchmarks put CPMs between roughly $4 and $12 and clicks between $0.30 and $1.50. For a DTC brand the bigger line item is usually creative, not media.

What TikTok itself requires (as of October 2026)
TikTok does not publish a rate card. Every in-feed ad is bought in an auction, so the only fixed numbers are the floors in TikTok’s budget documentation:
| Level | Daily budget minimum | Lifetime budget minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Must exceed $50 | Must exceed $50 |
| Ad group | Must exceed $20 | Days in flight × $20 (31 days = $620) |
Two details trip people up: you cannot switch between daily and lifetime budgets once an ad group is live, and the lifetime minimum counts days already elapsed, so a running ad group cannot be cut to a token amount.
The minimums are also not what TikTok actually recommends. On its budgeting page, TikTok suggests a $30 minimum daily ad group budget for North American web conversion campaigns, and its auction best-practice guide goes further: a daily ad group budget of 10 to 50 times your target CPA. At a $40 target CPA that is $400 to $2,000 a day per ad group. The gap between the floor and the recommendation is where most “TikTok didn’t work for us” stories come from.
Bidding is Maximum Delivery (no bid, spend the budget) or Cost Cap (hold an average CPA), per TikTok’s bidding FAQ. Use the first to get data, the second to protect margin once you know what a customer is worth.
TikTok ads cost per click and per thousand impressions
Every CPM or CPC you read is somebody’s account data, not a TikTok number. The ranges below are third-party, linked so you can check the sample and the date.
| Metric | Third-party range | Source (date) |
|---|---|---|
| CPM | $5 to $12 | Darkroom (https://www.darkroomagency.com/observatory/how-much-does-tiktok-advertising-cost-in-2026-complete-pricing-guide) (Jan 2026) |
| CPM | $4 to $10 | WordStream (https://www.wordstream.com/blog/tiktok-ads-cost) (Aug 2026) |
| CPM, conversion campaigns | $4.80 average | Lebesgue (https://lebesgue.io/tiktok-ads/tiktok-ads-benchmarks-for-ctr-cr-and-cpm) (Sep 2026) |
| CPC | $0.30 to $1.50 | Darkroom and WordStream (2026) |
| CPC, ecommerce | $0.50 to $1.20 | Stackmatix (https://www.stackmatix.com/blog/tiktok-ads-cost-benchmarks) (Sep 2026) |
| Cost per view | $0.01 to $0.07 | WordStream (Aug 2026) |
| CTR, conversion campaigns | 0.61% average | Lebesgue (Sep 2026) |
| Conversion rate, conversion campaigns | 1.92% average | Lebesgue (Sep 2026) |
Read the spread, not the midpoint: the same brand can sit near $5 CPM in Q2 and double that in the November auction. Darkroom’s comparison puts Facebook at $8 to $14 and Instagram at $8 to $15 CPM, so TikTok impressions are usually cheaper. Cheaper impressions are not cheaper customers, because TikTok traffic is colder and converts lower on a page built for warm Meta retargeting.
TikTok ads cost by objective
The objective changes both the unit you pay for and who TikTok shows the ad to. Ranges are third-party, from Birch’s April 2026 breakdown unless noted.
| Objective | What you pay for | Third-party range | When a DTC brand should use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reach / awareness | CPM | $4.20 to $9.00 | Launches, when you can measure lift another way |
| Video views | CPV | $0.01 to $0.07 | Building a retargeting pool of viewers cheaply |
| Traffic | CPC | $0.17 to $1.00 | Rarely. Cheap clicks from people who never buy |
| Lead generation | Cost per lead | $5 to $45 (median $18) | Quiz funnels, waitlists, high-ticket consults |
| Website conversions | oCPM, optimised to purchase | $10 to $40+ CPA; Stackmatix: $20 to $60 | The default for any store that can pass purchase events |
The trap is the traffic objective. The CPC is low because TikTok is finding people who click on anything. If your pixel and Events API pass Complete Payment events, run conversions from day one: fewer clicks, better clicks.
On learning, TikTok’s own learning phase documentation says results typically stabilise after about 25 results or seven days, and that pausing, heavy edits and “unreasonable budget setting or creative volumes” restart the clock. In money: 25 purchases a week at a $40 CPA is roughly $1,000 a week, or about $143 a day per ad group. That is seven times the $20 floor, and the honest answer to “how much do TikTok ads cost per day”.
Why creative volume is the real cost on TikTok
On Meta, a strong static can run for months. On TikTok the feed runs on novelty, and that has a cost implication most budget calculators ignore.
TikTok’s creative best-practice guidance asks for three to five creatives per ad group and three to five ad groups per campaign. Take the middle of both and a single campaign wants around 16 distinct videos at launch. The same document says to refresh when results show “a consistently declining trend”, and its auction guide calls creative fatigue “a top factor that shortens an ad’s lifespan”. In practice a video carrying an ad group fades within two to four weeks, faster at higher spend as frequency climbs.
Price the pipeline. A January 2026 comparison of six UGC marketplaces found per-video costs from about $68 (Billo, bought in bulk) through $100 to $200 (UGC Planet, Vidovo) to $250 to $300 (UGC-Shop), with a cross-marketplace average of $212. Re-cuts and new hooks cost less than new shoots but still need an editor’s hours.
So a brand spending $10,000 a month on media that wants 12 to 16 fresh videos a month is looking at $1,200 to $3,500 of creative on top, roughly 12 to 35 percent of media. At $3,000 a month the proportion is worse, because you still need a minimum number of concepts to learn anything, and creative can equal media spend. That ratio is normal on TikTok and abnormal everywhere else, which is why teams that budget TikTok like Meta run out of ads before they run out of money. The cheapest creative is the creative you already know works: Spark-boost the organic post that outperformed and re-shoot its hook three ways before you pay for a new concept.
Spark Ads vs standard in-feed ads: what changes in the cost
Spark Ads run an existing organic post as an ad, from your account or a creator’s with their authorisation code. Standard in-feed ads are uploaded videos on a plain ad identity. Both are bought in the same auction at the same minimums; the difference is what you get per dollar.
TikTok’s own figures, from its Spark Ads 101 article and based on its 2022 internal A/B tests, claim a 134 percent higher completion rate and a 157 percent higher six-second view-through rate than standard in-feed ads, plus a 69 percent higher conversion rate and 37 percent lower CPA from the Spark profile landing page experience. Treat those as a vendor’s numbers. The direction matches what media buyers see, though: viewers can tap through to a real profile with real comments, so Spark Ads borrow trust a bare ad identity does not have.
The costs that differ are off-platform. Creator Spark authorisations (usage rights for 30, 60 or 90 days) are a line in the creator contract, so a $200 video becomes a $300 to $500 video. On media, WordStream lists both formats at $4 to $8 CPM, while Darkroom quotes Spark at $0.10 to $0.30 per click against $0.30 to $1.50 for standard in-feed; treat that gap as directional. The practical split: Spark for anything with creator or organic proof attached, standard in-feed for offer-led product videos that need a clean CTA.
The landing page decides your effective CPA
Everything above is the cost of a click. What you pay for is a customer, and the page that receives the click sets the exchange rate.
Take a $0.80 click and Lebesgue’s 1.92 percent conversion rate: a $41.67 CPA. Lift the page’s conversion rate by 30 percent, to 2.5 percent, and the same clicks cost $32 per order, a 23 percent lower CPA without touching a bid. Lift it 40 percent and CPA is under $30. TikTok’s Spark Ads note above makes the same point from the other side: a changed landing experience cut CPA 37 percent.

This is why we run media and pages together. For Binoid, a DTC CBD brand, paid social CPA came down 30 percent in four months through a landing page program, not a bidding change. For Optimize Minerals, a supplement brand moving from organic into paid, the landing pages built for paid traffic converted 40 percent better than the site pages the ads had been sending people to. TikTok traffic needs this more than Meta traffic: it arrives colder, mid-scroll, with no idea who you are, and it will not read a homepage. Before adding a dollar of media, check that the first screen repeats the ad’s hook, loads in under two seconds on a mid-range Android, has one offer and one button, and shows reviews without scrolling.
Budget planning for $3k, $10k and $30k a month
Planning arithmetic, not a forecast: it uses the third-party ranges above ($0.50 to $1.50 CPC, 1.92 percent conversion rate) and the UGC marketplace prices. Your numbers will differ; the structure will not.
| Monthly media | $3,000 (about $100/day) | $10,000 (about $330/day) | $30,000 (about $1,000/day) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Structure | 1 campaign, 1 to 2 ad groups at $50 to $100/day | 1 to 2 campaigns, 3 ad groups at about $110/day | 2 to 3 campaigns, 5 to 6 ad groups at $150 to $200/day |
| New videos a month | 6 to 8 | 12 to 16 | 25 to 40 |
| Creative budget (UGC rates) | $500 to $1,000 | $1,200 to $3,500 | $2,500 to $8,000 |
| Clicks at $0.50 to $1.50 CPC | 2,000 to 6,000 | 6,700 to 20,000 | 20,000 to 60,000 |
| Orders at 1.92% CVR | 38 to 115 | 128 to 384 | 384 to 1,150 |
| Implied CPA (media only) | $26 to $78 | $26 to $78 | $26 to $78 |
| What you can learn | Whether one angle works. One ad group may clear 25 results a week; two will not | Which of 3 audiences or angles wins; enough purchases per ad group to exit learning | Prospecting vs retargeting split, Spark vs standard, cost cap vs lowest cost |
Notice that the implied CPA does not improve with budget. Efficiency on TikTok comes from creative and the page; scale mostly adds frequency. What budget buys is confidence and the right to run more than one test at a time. And if the implied CPA sits above your first-order contribution margin at every tier, TikTok is not a bidding problem. It is a conversion rate, AOV or offer problem, and more spend only widens the gap faster.
What an agency changes about the cost
An agency does not get cheaper impressions; the auction does not know who is bidding. What changes is the cost of learning. Andrew Cowan has run Facebook ads for close to 15 years and scaled eight- and nine-figure DTC stores as a brand-side CMO, and the TikTok pattern he sees is the same every time: brands fund the media, underfund the creative, and send the traffic to a site built for another channel.
Parah Group runs paid social across Meta, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and Pinterest together with the landing page and CRO work, as one paid social + CRO program. We do not run Google or Bing search. Fees are scoped per brand on a call; no pricing is published.

Frequently asked questions
How much do TikTok ads cost per day?
As of October 2026, TikTok’s minimum is $50 a day per campaign and $20 a day per ad group. TikTok itself recommends at least $30 a day per ad group for North American web conversion campaigns, and 10 to 50 times your target CPA for stable results. Brands that see results typically start between $100 and $150 a day.
What is the minimum budget for TikTok ads?
$50 a day for a campaign and $20 a day for an ad group. Lifetime budgets must be at least the daily minimum multiplied by the number of days the ad group runs, so a 31-day ad group needs a lifetime budget of at least $620.
How much do TikTok ads cost per click?
Third-party 2026 benchmarks put TikTok CPCs between $0.30 and $1.50, with ecommerce accounts typically $0.50 to $1.20. Traffic campaigns deliver cheaper clicks but far fewer buyers, so the conversion objective usually wins despite a higher CPC.
Are TikTok ads cheaper than Facebook ads?
Per impression, usually yes: Darkroom’s 2026 comparison places TikTok at $5 to $12 CPM against $8 to $14 for Facebook and $8 to $15 for Instagram. Per customer, not necessarily, because TikTok traffic is colder and converts lower, so CPA depends more on creative and landing page than on CPM.
Is $20 a day enough for TikTok ads?
Enough to run an ad group, not enough to learn from one. At $20 a day and a $40 CPA you would expect one purchase every two days, so the ad group never leaves the learning phase. Use $20 a day for a retargeting ad group beside a funded prospecting group, not as a standalone test.
